Trickly

For parents

You don't need to know the subject. You just need the words.

Millions of Indian parents want to help with homework but were never taught it themselves — or the book is in a language they cannot read. Trickly closes that gap. Photograph the question, and we hand you the answer, the steps, and exactly what to say to your child, in your own language.

A mother photographing her child's maths homework

“My daughter asked me what a percentage was. I sell vegetables. I finished school at twelve. I told her to ask her teacher tomorrow, and I saw her face.”

This is the moment Trickly exists for. Not to replace you — to give you the answer so you can be the one who explains it.

Three ways to ask. No typing in English.

Photograph it

Point your phone at the textbook or notebook. Trickly reads the question, even handwritten, and solves it.

Say it out loud

Press the microphone and speak in your own language. No script to read, no keyboard to fight with.

Read it in your language

The whole explanation comes back in the language you speak at home — and can be read aloud to you.

And then the part that matters

Switch to parent mode and Trickly rewrites the whole thing as a teaching script — the actual sentences to say to your child, in the simplest words, with no technical terms at all. You read it out. Your child learns it from you.

A small favour, and it really matters

You now have the answer. The most natural thing in the world is to write it into your child's book so the homework is finished and everyone can sleep. We understand that completely — and we would ask you to do one thing differently.

Give them the first step, then stop. Ask what they think comes next. Wait, even when the waiting feels long. A child who is stuck for a minute and then finds it is a child who will still know it in the exam. A child who watches you write it will be stuck again tomorrow, on the same question.

  • Read one step out loud, then pause and ask them what comes next.
  • If they get it wrong, say "nearly — try that bit again" and wait.
  • Let them hold the pencil. Always. Even when it is slower.
  • When they get it, ask them to explain it back to you. That is when it sticks.

You are not there to solve it. You are there so that nobody gives up on the question — and that is the harder job, and the one only you can do.

In the language you speak at home

Menus, buttons, lessons and explanations — all nine, all the way through. Not English with a translate button bolted on.

See how they're doing

A weekly summary in plain language: which subjects your child studied, for how long, what they finished, and one specific suggestion for the week ahead. No jargon, no dashboards to decode.

We send them outside

After thirty minutes of study, Trickly interrupts and suggests a real game — Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Pallankuzhi — with the rules and why it's good for them. We are probably the only learning app actively trying to reduce screen time.

Questions parents ask

I never finished school myself. Can I still help my child?
Yes — that is exactly who Trickly is built for. You do not need to know the subject. Photograph the question and Trickly gives you the answer, the steps, and word-for-word what to say to your child, in your own language.
I cannot read English. Will that be a problem?
No. Choose your language once and the entire app — buttons, menus and every explanation — appears in it. You can also speak your question instead of typing, and have the answer read aloud.
How much does it cost?
Browsing shortcuts and basic practice are free forever. Trickly Plus is ₹199 a month for one child, or ₹349 a month for up to 3 children in the same family — about ₹116 per child. Cancel any time, full refund within the first 7 days.
Is it safe for my child?
We never show advertising to children, never sell personal data, and delete homework photos within 24 hours. Trickly also interrupts after thirty minutes of study to send your child outside to play.
Will my child just copy the answers?
Every explanation shows the method, not only the result, and each lesson ends with practice questions your child answers themselves. Parent mode is written as a teaching script for you, not an answer sheet for them.
